Virginia Beach... LOVIN The SUN!

Yes this is the actual state Motto... maybe that's why we moved to Virginia instead of Maryland or DC!! So our fun friends Mitch & Sarah invited us to go to Virgina Beach with them for the weekend. We ended up driving there on Friday sleeping in a very questionable hotel (long story but there was some drama and a discount hotel voucher issued) and then spent the whole wonderful day Saturday at the beach!! It was SOOO much fun!! I loved every min and can't wait to go back.

Virginia Lovers on the beach xoxox ps.. can you see Danny's rockin abs?! We've been doing the Body for Life Challenge and since he is thinner than me he is getting seriously cut a lot quicker.. I'm going to have to work a little harder!!

To start the day we rented an umbrella or we would have roasted!! Well our stuff would have at least.. the four of us spent the majority of the time playing in the ocean. The guys body surfed while Sarah and I floated and dove into the waves. The water was a bit chilly at first but once you got used to it, it was a great way to keep cool in the 98 degree sunshine.

We broke the diet for some much needed Blizzards from the DQ on the boardwalk.

Checked out this guy.. famous for hanging out and swimming at the beach.

They had an art gallery booth set up with about 15 vendors and their artwork. It was fun to check them out. .. If I had a beach house I would be tempted to spend some serious $$ on decorations!

Sidewalk chalk art festival. Not as good as the ones at the gateway but I tried to take pics of my favorites...

Killer band out there playin for fee... they needed a little help but it's always fun to hear music on the beach.

Miss the MJ and thought this one was well done.

This one was just rad! The surfer looked pretty lifelike. That lady was probably the most talented Artist there...
Then we had to hit the shops. I decided to go all out and tried some fudge and we looked at shells, tried on crazy hats and had fun cooling off.

poor hermit crabs! Let us freeee....

Then to end the day we made a dinner stop at Wendy's where Sarah had her first taste of Dr. Pepper.. and do you think she liked it?!

Not a chance.. too bad since it's my drink of choice!! I guess it's that Uruguayan blood in her that won't allow her to enjoy delicious drinks like Dr Pepper.. haha jk (but seriously.. she's been in the states for 7+ years and never enjoyed a DP! Come on!! I guess we can still be friends)

One last pic of the party crew before we headed home for the night. All in all it was a GREAT trip and we had so much fun with Sarah & Mitch.. I can't wait to go back!! Thanks for the invite guys xoxoxo

Congrats Wendy & Keith

My Beautiful Aunt Wendy just got re-married!! I'm so happy and excited for her :) I've never seen her so happy and I know she found a great guy. Surprise Trip!

My Wonderful Hubby Danny took me on a fun weekend trip to Cedar Point amusement park!! It was a 7 hr drive up to Sandusky, OH and well worth it. The story behind our trip being that Danny and I met 10 years ago in that very area... :) It was so sweet of him to take me back to where our love began :) The next day we went to Cleveland.. but that's for the next post.

Our drive was a beautiful green lush view. I do miss the mountains of Utah but at least we have tall trees and green vegetation to entertain us.

Tunnel!! Danny held his breath all the way to the other side.. I'm glad he didn't pass out cuz he was driving.

Woot Woot!! After staying in a nice hotel the next day we were off bright and early for a full 10am-10pm day of Cedar Point FUNNN

Driving to the park. It's literally on it's own point and so when you are on the coasters you can see over Lake Eerie. Pretty Awesome!

Can you see how happy I am to be there?!!?

The Dragster was so fast! It shoots you 120mph up a steep 400ft climb and then it twists and comes back down. It's a rush for sure! See pic of the coaster below.

We took a little break from coasters and went into a few shops and even found the petting zoo.

Danny loved this little goat.

He would stare and smile when we would stop petting him.. like hey where did you go?!

Hot Hubby... heheh

Look closely at this big dad riding with his kid! That's true parental love. Super cute.

We even played some games and Danny won me a Domo! I wanted a gorilla but where would I put that thing!?! It was huge!

They had an extreme skate show which we went to. Unfortunately after that we went on a coaster where danny lost his glasses :( They flew right out of his shirt!! We walked along the beach trying to find them with no luck. At least that was the only casualty of the day. The rest of our time was SUPER FUNNNNN

Our favorite coaster was the Millennium Force. This coaster had just opened when we were there 10 years ago and it was still super cool. We rode it 4 times and it made our list of all time Favorite Coasters EVER!

I didn't get many pics of the coasters... we were just enjoying our day. I love my hubby and had a great time with him!! Thanks honey for a fun trip. I'm so glad we met 10 years ago. xoxox

Where it all Began... Cleveland, Ohio

After Cedar Point we drove to Cleveland. The next day we went back to the Hotel where all the romance began :) The inside had changed but it was cool to go back with my hottie.

Inside the hotel. I think it was also kinda crazy that when I met Danny he didn't wear glasses and since he lost them at Cedar Point he didn't have them when we went back to Cleveland! hm... it was meant to be.

So during our week of fun 10 years ago we got into a little trouble. We played in the main square fountain after a dance and scattered once the cops came, we stayed in the hotel halls all night talking and running around, and we somehow broke into the back room and climbed the ladder to the top and Danny and I went up and stood on the top of the hotel!! While we were up there the whole time I remember thinking.. "ok.. when is he going to kiss me?!" and do you think he had the courage to do it?! NO! I got no lovin.. so now 10 years later he had to set the record straight and give me a good kiss outside of the hotel. We are too old(responsible?) to break in a climb on the roof now :)

The fountain that 30 of us students jumped into and had a blast till the copers came.

The Love of my life!

The hotel.

The Kiss.. finally! and the rest is history... xoxox

Weekend with the Hubby: Cleveland to Palmyra

After visiting Cleveland we headed on to Kritland, OH to see some of the church history sites. We stopped to see the temple. It's amazing to think of the many keys and ordinances of the gospel that were restored in this very temple. It was said that at one time concourses of angels were seen singing from the rooftop.

We then went to the Historic Kirtland Visitor's Center.

We kind of skipped out on half of the tour and snuck into another group that was going through the Whitney Store. It was the main area that I wanted to see and we were a little pressed for time.

I liked this game table. I would have done something like this if I were a pioneer. I LOVE board games! :)

Inside the shop.. I liked the hand made lace bonnets. Yes... I would have worn one of those too!

This sweet missionary gave our tour. He was a little forgetful but super sweet. He kept saying.. "we are so blessed to be here. This is just such a sacred place." Which I believe it was! So much happened at the NK Whitney Store. Since Joseph & Emma were living upstairs they were constantly housing and taking care of people. Most importantly this is where the School of the Prophets was started which resulted in receiving many revelations and the Word of Wisdom. It was humbling to be in a place that was such a ground basis of the beginning of the restoration.

Tiny Room of the School of the Prophets.

Storage room with the smallest guest bed I've EVER seen!!

Emma & Joseph's ONE room for them and the family!
After our visit we were back on the road. The scenery was white fences and rolling plains for miles! It was a beautiful sunny day and a great time for a road trip if you ask me :)

We made it to Palmyra just in time to set up our tent and rush over to the Hill Cumorah. I loved the sunset as we walked to the pageant seating! The trees in the background I believe are the beginning of the Sacred Grove!

We got to see my BFF From college Kristin!! and her cute Hubby Brett along with her boyz: Crue & Ryder.

Brett & Crue cheesin it up for the camera xoxox

I got to have this little guy (Ryder) on my lap for almost the whole show. I LOVED it!! He just lounged out with the occasional shout out to his mom that was sitting by me :)

Ahh Brotherly Love!

The Doctors/Hubbys

After camping (forgot to take pics) we headed to church at the Palmyra Stake Center. It was packed!! We heard some great talks and had to say goodbye after as we headed back to DC. xoxox ... I love that Brett snook into the background! haha.. typical center of attention.. :) jk

On our way home we got to see the beautiful DC temple! Isn't this awesome how you are on the freeway and it just pops up into view?! So cool!! We also made a stop before we went home and saw Aly's Parents. They are like second family to me. I didn't get any pics but it was so nice to see them for a few min. They are such amazing people!!

Then by sunset we made it home... Can you see the Air force Monument in the background? We pass this and the Pentagon everyday on our drive home.

Ahh home sweet home! Time to unpack, finish painting our walls and make some healthy meals for our next few weeks of the workout competition. Update: We are now on week 7 of our Body for Life Challenge... I have lost a solid 3 inches everywhere and even a little more in some areas... It's progress baby and it feels great!
