Happy Birthday Danny!

To celebrate Danny's Birthday this year we decided to keep it local :)  Since we have been so busy we really haven't gotten to see many of the museums so we decided to make it a Smithsonian Birthday :)  First we went to the National Art Museum.

I really loved this hand art! Danny and I made a ceramic mold of us holding hands before we got married and I thought this was an extra creative way to use your hands as art!

Another cool aspect was the Matrisse cut-outs.  It's literally wire cutouts and the art is the shadow it creates.  The room had a slight breeze to it so the shapes were constantly changing and it was a pretty sweet layout.  I even got my hand in on the shadow art! :)

Next it was Danny's choice so we were off to the National Rifle Museum!  What a perfect spot for my hubby :)  Guns guns and more guns... haha... I think I've gotten him addicted!

I thought the display from movies was pretty cool.  I didn't realize that they use real guns I always thought they were replicas.. but here they were.. the real deal!

After the museums since it was restaurant week I got a sweet reservation at an upscale restaurant that was right next to the capitol.  It was pretty good food and we had a great time "fine dining" for a special occasion. Isn't he such a hansom birthday boy!? xoxo

This was right outside our view from the restaurant.. you can't really see it but the capitol building is right behind us.  It was a really pretty part of town.. minus the cars in the background haha!

To finish off the night I made Danny and ice cream cake which I forgot to snag a pic of.. darn!  And he got a special package from his Granny Dee!! It was the funnies thing ever!! She sent him a whole box of fun mixes.. the MASSIVE jar of cheese balls were the best! hahaha!

I hope Danny had a fun Low-Key birthday with me in DC.. I know I had fun exploring with him :) xoxo
