Being Patient....
So I found these two talks very comforting and helpful for our situation right now. I decided to post them as the Spiritual Message of the Week.... Maybe they will be helpful to you too! xoxox Morgs
Patience means accepting that which cannot be changed and facing it with courage, grace, and faith. It means being “willing to submit to all things which the Lord seeth fit to inflict upon [us], even as a child doth submit to his father.”Ultimately, patience means being “firm and steadfast, and immovable in keeping the commandments of the Lord”every hour of every day, even when it is hard to do so. In the words of John the Revelator, “Here is the patience of the saints: here are they that keep the commandments of God, and … faith [in] Jesus.”
Patience is a process of perfection. The Savior Himself said that in your patience you possess your souls. Or, to use another translation of the Greek text, in your patience you win mastery of your souls.Patience means to abide in faith, knowing that sometimes it is in the waiting rather than in the receiving that we grow the most. This was true in the time of the Savior. It is true in our time as well, for we are commanded in these latter days to “continue in patience until ye are perfected.”
.... the work of patience boils down to this: keep the commandments; trust in God, our Heavenly Father; serve Him with meekness and Christlike love; exercise faith and hope in the Savior; and never give up. The lessons we learn from patience will cultivate our character, lift our lives, and heighten our happiness. They will help us to become worthy and faithful disciples of our Master, Jesus Christ.

I know that each of us has a vital and essential role as a daughter of God. He has bestowed upon His daughters divine attributes for the purpose of forwarding His work. God has entrusted women with the sacred work of bearing and rearing children. No other work is more important. It is a holy calling. The noblest office for a woman is the sacred work of building eternal families, ideally in partnership with her husband.
I am aware that some of our sisters have not yet received the blessings of marriage or children. I assure you that in due time you will receive all the blessings promised to the faithful. You must “press forward with a steadfastness in Christ, having a perfect brightness of hope, . . . and endure to the end” to have eternal life. In the eternal perspective, the missing blessings “shall be but a small moment."

The Lord Blesses Us for Our Patience
To paraphrase the Psalmist of old, if we wait patiently for the Lord, He will incline unto us. He will hear our cries. He will bring us out of a horrible pit and set our feet upon a solid rock. He will put a new song in our mouths, and we will praise our God. Many around us will see it, and they will trust in the Lord..... the work of patience boils down to this: keep the commandments; trust in God, our Heavenly Father; serve Him with meekness and Christlike love; exercise faith and hope in the Savior; and never give up. It's Carmel Apple + Craft Time!
My Friend Aly came over one night when Danny had to study a ton and we got our craft on! I LOVE having Aly here and will be SOOO sad when she moves :( Between work + hubby's we rarely get to see each other but when we do.. we make it count! :)
Danny took a study break and was quiet for too long in the kitchen.. we found him creating this:
He even made his own version of almond roca... YUM!! While Danny studied the night away Aly & I got our craft on! Since neither of us really know how to sew I went and bought a sewing machine and we made a project to help us learn more about sewing. After a few fights with the sewing machine I think we've got the basics down :) Yea!!

Weekend in Delaware
Danny's Sweet Grandparent's (His mom's parents) invited us to to their house in Delaware for Sat + Sun. We had the BEST time with them! It's been since Jan since we've been up and they are only 3 hrs away!! We also got a nice surprise when we got there, his Granny Pauline had invited Danny's other cousins to join us for a full FEAST!! It was so nice to meet some of Danny's cousins that he's only seen a couple of times. I love family and feel so blessed to meet more of Danny's extended family because we are so fortunate to be out on the East coast for a while. I also love their Italian/East Coast spunk.
Since they don't have any seating we went to a park to enjoy the outdoors and our yummy lunch.
After a little playing on the swings with full tummies we headed back to DC to start a new week of work + studying.. sigh. Say a little prayer for Danny that his head doesn't explode with all this new medical knowledge! xoxo
Got to play with this cute little bug!!
And this little one is the Smartest thing ever!! She's demonstrating her Ballet Toe Stance. xoxox
After going having a YUMMY breakfast FEASTTT we were on our way home and took a little detour through Little Italy. We also had to stop at Capriotti's which is one of the best little sub shops ever! East Coast sandwich places are AMAZING! Since they don't have any seating we went to a park to enjoy the outdoors and our yummy lunch.

Returning to Christ
Spiritual Message of the Week- Returning to Christ
President Spencer W. Kimball
(The Teachings of Spencer W. Kimball, ed. Edward L. Kimball 1982, 135).
Mama Time! do do do do.. do do... do U ...Can't Touch This...
My mom came for a fun Thus-Sun Weekend Visit! Wahooo!! I took work off and we had a blast :) We started the weekend off with a visit to the Peeps Store, National Harbor, and shopping at my new fav accessory store Charming Charlies.
National Harbor
Friday we were off exploring the coast as we ventured down to Virginia Beach. We layed out and enjoyed the sun. The water was frigid.. so even our toes refused to get in. We had a great time having a full girls day!
Love my mama!
Yes... had to think of my sweet hubby while we were off playing, he was studying hard. Don't worry he was well fed :)
Can you see the tiny crab? Yep I almost stepped on him but my mom's eagle eyes preserved his life and we got to watch him run around. Super cute!
Ahhh Virginia Beach!
Saturday we used our womanly powers and persuaded Danny to take a break from the books and have a fun outing to Shenandoah. This is a beautiful valley close to West Virginia. It was the Fall Festival weekend so each town was having a different festivity. Since the towns were spread out across a 100 mile distance I picked a couple that I thought would be fun. However, we actually ended up spending the whole day in the Marker-Miller Apple Orchard!!
My little mom is the Happy Apple of Our eye!!
Apple Orchards!! There were about 15 different types of apples.. so we got our "apple map" and went wandering around to find the very best!
Someone couldn't wait and had to sneak a bite in the orchard! Caught ya!
All the trees had a million apples in them as well as on the ground.. Apples as far as the eye can seeeeeee....
My perfect Granny Smith apple. YUM!
I always wanted the one at the very top of the branch. And that's why I brought Danny.. :)
Give him an apple and he will conquer
Thanks Honey!
He couldn't seem to find any apples?! hehehee
The scene was complete with a tractor carting people to and from the pumpkin patch.
Gorgeous!
Teamwork! Watch your head mama!
Happy Couple
Happy Bug attacked my mom's leg
Don't worry she saved it. haha
My apple lovin hot hubby!
Mommy & Me
My mom thought it was funny that randomly there would be a pile of ants sitting very still on the apple sucking up all it's delicious goodness... so this pic is for you mom... ahhh to be an ant on an apple :)
Is it an angel? Why yes it is.. come down to pick me an apple!
Bag holder.. by the end it was over flowing. Thanks Honey.. You're so super duper strong xoxox
Of all the pumpkins I decided I wanted a small warty pumpkin this year. What do you think?
My mom wanted the big one but we couldn't fit it in the car.
Gourds..
They even had a cow kart pull for the kiddos..
Pumpkinsssss
We then ended the night by stopping for a yummy dinner at Chili's and then we were off to more exploring! At another location in a State Park they had advertised that NASA was bringing some extra cool telescopes for people try out so we decided to be adventurous and check it out. When we got there it was kinda weird.. they somewhat directed us to park in a field in the pitch black then they told us to walk up the road to where we heard some people. So we started walking with no flashlights into the darkness.. luckily after a while our eyes adjusted and we somehow found the group. This group actually consisted of a bunch of amateur telescope groupies that had also brought out there cool HUGE scopes. They were letting the public look through them. It was soooo cool!! I'm not sure how many people were there but we got to see through 5 different telescopes which was a pretty fun experience. Also it was Danny's first time looking through a telescope which made it even more fun!
This telescope was HUGE. The guy grabbed Danny as an anchor man to hold it down and adjust it. To even seen through the scope you had to climb a ladder it was so tall!
Next huge scope! I didn't dare take too many pictures and blind all the spectators.. but just believe me that we had a fun time looking at Jupiter, Star Clusters, and learning a little more about the beautiful night sky.
To finish off the festivities on Sunday I decided to have some friends over for lunch. Danny made a killer Teriakyi Chicken and my mom made Peach Cobbler. Hi Everyone!!
Oh and yes.. that is our coffee table.. we were eating Danny & Morgan style.
All in all I had a great time with my mom. She really is like a best friend to me and I'm so grateful to have her in my life. Love ya Mama! xoxox
