In front of the White House after we finally found it :)

Danny's cute
Italian Granny Pauline and Papa Joe (Keep in mind Danny is only 5'9'' so they are really both under 5 feet tall!! So adorable!)

What an inspiring and emotional place! I LOVE DC! I have never been before and I decided to go out with Danny for his interview. So we flew out wed and got in that night. Then after a crazy taxi ride we made it to our hotel in Alexandria. Well the next day we decided to go sight seeing in DC. So we found a bus and took that to the metro and then took the metro to Arlington
Cemetery. That was so fun! We got to see the Kennedy memorial with the eternal flame. Then we were off to go see the sites at "the mall." We wanted to see the white house but without a map we ended up walking to the Washington Monument and it we would have just turned around we would have seen the White House!! We ended up seeing it right before we got back on the metro. But after the
Washington monument we walked over to the Lincoln Memorial. That was my FAVORITE part of the whole trip. What an inspiration! I felt so inspired and could feel the spirit so
strong just being in that memorial and reading his great words. I was astonished!! He truly is a great example to us all. Then we got to see the space and air
museum at the mall along with the sculpture garden which was super fun! Thursday night we went back to the hotel a little early to help Danny study and prepare for his interview. Then he went into his interview the next morning and I stayed and played around in Alexandria. Then he came back to change and told me the news... His interview went GREAT!! He felt like it was a very positive experience and was super impressed with the school. So that night we went back into DC and ate dinner at a Spanish restaurant because they had all of Danny's favorite dishes from Spain. Then Saturday we rented a car and drove up to
Delaware to visit Danny's cute little
Italian grandparents. We ate
raviolis with them which were AMAZING and just hung out.
Then the next morning his grandparents
snuck off to Mass at 7am and when we got up they had gotten back and his grandma cooked us a breakfast feast!! So around 10:30am Danny's grandpa wanted to take us into town for treats and to fill our tank and we found that our rental car had a flat tire! So we called AAA and two hours later were on our way to the airport. Overall it was a super fun trip and I would really love the chance to live in DC. It is seriously an inspiring and fun place to be. I felt so motivated seeing all the monuments, watching the runners go around that area, and just knowing that we were in the Heart of our Nation. I LOVE DC! Hopefully we can go back again soon.

So Danny and I just finished reading The Hot Zone about an Ebola virus outbreak and where did it happen?!
RESTON Virginia!! So we had to go to the exact place where it was... it was a little spooky!

Danny had to see the Space and Air Smithsonian :) So cute..

The DC Temple just popped up out of no where when we were driving down the freeway!
We found our long lost twins in the sculpture garden :)

At the horticulture
Smithsonian this plant had REAL SPIKES On it's leaves... so cool!
