We had a pretty awesome 4th of July Weekend.. not because we did a ton but because Danny and I were finally able to relax and spend some time TOGETHER!! Hooray! On Saturday we had the best day.. it consisted of having breakfast together, lounging around the house until noon, then we went shopping for some new business clothes for Danny, went and looked at cribs, decided to catch a movie and saw Super 8, went to dinner at Noodles & Co, went clothes shopping again, got some Rita's Ice Cream came home and watched The Tourist and stayed up until 1am! It was an awesome day of just being together with no school or work stress.
Sunday we woke up at 4am to a crazy thunder + lightening storm that lasted for 2 hours.. it was like someone was flashing a camera right in our room coupled with thunder that shook our building!! It even woke Danny up!! J We watched the storm for a bit and then went back to bed only to get up early to make it to church at 8am. So after we got ready we picked up the sister missionaries and headed to church. It was so HOT at church I was dying and as sacrament meeting was ending I got a MASSIVE calf cramp that instantly put me to tears… I was trying to get it to stop and then they had the congregation stand to sing the Star Spangled Banner… So I tried to stand for a verse but my body wasn’t cooperating so I awkwardly sat while everyone stood. I still feel patriotic in my heart even though I didn’t stand J
We were also spotlighted in the ward Newsletter and got a lot of comments about it.. Here's what we put:
Danny's get to know you questions:
What are your favorite smells? The Bread aisle.
What is your favorite trip you've ever taken and why? Together with my wife quitting our jobs and spending a month touring Spain.
Name one thing you miss about being a kid. Simplicity of life
What subject do you know an unusually lot about? Multidrug resistant Tuberculosis
Name one thing you have no desire to ever do. Run a marathon
Morgan's get to know you questions:
If you were a crayon, what color would you be? Fuschia
What would your dream job be? Playing golf for LPGA.... I LOVE to golf!!
Name one thing you miss about being a kid: Going to Roller Skating & Rootbeer Popsicles... I can't find them anywhere!
If you could be a superhero, what would you want your superpowers to be? Mind reading... I always want t know what people are REALLY thinking. Something from being a sociology major makes me want to dissect people and learn more about them and how they view things.
Share something about you that not many people know about you: I have a motorcycle's license and a concealed weapons permit :)
A little info about us:
Dan is from Layton, UT and Morgan is from Bountiful, UT. Dan served his mission in Barcelona, Spain and Morgan served in Panama City, Panama. Moved to DC from Utah for Dan to attend medical school at GW, he's starting his 3rd year!! Morgan has a Master's in Health Administration so she can help with his medical practice someday. Dan loves to go powder skiing, long-board, play tennis and golf. Morgan loves to go running, powder skiing, golfing, and bake yummy desserts when she gets the chance ;)

We both love to go camping or just travel and will take any chance we can to go somewhere new.
We've been married for 4 1/2 years and are expecting our first baby in October. We met when we were 17 in 2000, lost touch and met back up in 2006 and the rest is history!

After church I was ready to head home and we almost left the sister missionaries! Haha… luckily I went back to find them before we left… I couldn’t believe that their car was switched out for a couple bikes… it’s like 90+ degrees here and super humid. But then I remembered that MY mission to Panama was also like 90+ degrees and super humid year round and we had to walk everywhere… that made me not feel too bad for them.
Since we didn’t get much sleep the night before we took a 2 ½ hr nap and then headed to Lindsay’s house to hang out with her, Derek + Angel and their two kiddos. They drove down from Philly and so it was great to hang out with them and chat the night away.
On Monday we went back to Lindsay’s for a BBQ + a little pool time which was super fun. Then we headed to some friend’s in the ward for another BBQ get together. After that I got to take a 15 min nap and we met up with Sarah + Mitch to go watch the fireworks. We scored some sweet seats by chance outside of the pentagon and had an awesome view. Traffic wasn’t bad getting home either. It was a full day of Food + Friends and I loved it!! I’m so proud to be American and LOVE our country!!
Our view of the Pentagon... pre show ;)
Today, Tuesday, Danny started his rotations for his 3rd year… his week break went by WAY too fast!! For the next two years he’ll be rotating around different hospitals here in the DC area and going through a variety of specialties which include Primary Care, Psychiatry, OB/GYN, Surgery, Internal Medicine and Pediatrics. Should be a lot of fun cuz we’ll be having a baby in the middle of it all!!

Man, you guys are crazy busy and always having fun!!! Hope you are having a great summer in the blasted humidity. I love that 90 degrees means 110 degrees! I don't miss Texas AT ALL!!!
