Danny decided to grow a "study beard" while he was cramming over the summer for his Board Exam. He grew his beard for about 3 months +10 days (April-July) and this is the bearded man that emerged victorious! While I was at work he decided to have a photo shoot as he slowly shaved off his hard earned beard. From the amazing score he got on the board exam I think it was the beard that helped him along :) Which one is your Favorite?!
The Original Grizzly
Three Way Beard Shot
Cleaning up the sides
Extra long sideburns with thick goatee
Non Side Burns Goatee
Extra thick handelbar
Thinning off the chin handelbar
Extra thin off the chin handelbar
This is my personal favorite.. the hanging off the chin thin handelbar mustache :) You're so hot honey!! xoxo
The stash... another personal favorite
How can you not love this guy!?
I think this look is a keeper!
Creepy!
Ahhh.. There's my almost clean shaven hottie!!
The aftermath in my sink... lovely.

What's going to happen!?
Hm... what's going to happen this weekend?! No one seems to know. After an earthquake on Tuesday with little after shocks the past few days. We are now faced with a hurricane that nobody can say for sure how it will affect the area where we live. The shelves have been wiped clean of supplies, I'm glad we have food storage and are ok. It's interesting to see what chaos and panic sets in because people aren't prepared. I've even had to tell people at work about 72 hr kits and how they should be ready for power outages, food shortages, etc... I think they are all in denial. At least Danny and I are prepared :) I made sure we have a full tank of gas, water, food and some cash just in case we need to head for the hills!
Random notes:
I was doing a meeting house search on LDS.org and came across this view of all the LDS meetinghouses in the world!! It's inspiring to see how far reaching the gospel of Jesus Christ is. And I'm a part of it! Yea!!
Random rant #2
I went to my OB/GYN appt yesterday since I have to go every 2 weeks. After MANY visits of "everything is perfect" (I'm 33 weeks now) one of the Dr's told me that I had gained too much weight and that I needed to be very careful. Really?!?!??! I've only gained 24lbs according to their scales... (21 according to mine!) and it's either water weight or all belly. I really couldn't believe that she was seriously getting on my case about gaining too much weight. I can't really go work off the calories at the gym like I used to so I'm not quite clear on how I'm supposed to keep off gaining anymore unless I eat like a bird. Which at this point is not going to happen. I mean I haven't been eating for two at all, I've been VERY careful with my portions and only allowed myself a treat here and there. What was worse is that I feel healthy and wanted to punch her in the nose for pointing out that I'm overweight in front of my husband. It's one of 2 appts he's been able to attend and she has to bring up my weight issue in front of him!! ... I'm freaking pregnant and have never gone through this before, how am I supposed to know how much my body should our shouldn't gain?! grrr... That's my random rant for today....
UPDATE:
I went to my next Dr's appt 2 weeks later had only gained barely a pound and the other physician told me I was right on and was super excited that I had kept my weight so low my entire pregnancy!! Geeze the difference between the two Dr's was amazing... I had stressed about it for 2 weeks and then was told that I was right on for my entire pregnancy. It's now been another week since that appt and I'm the same weight. Hopefully this will be the trend for the last 4 weeks! Woot Woot! No one wants extra baby weight... and I don't plan on packing it on any time soon :) YEA!!

Happy 4th of July
We had a pretty awesome 4th of July Weekend.. not because we did a ton but because Danny and I were finally able to relax and spend some time TOGETHER!! Hooray! On Saturday we had the best day.. it consisted of having breakfast together, lounging around the house until noon, then we went shopping for some new business clothes for Danny, went and looked at cribs, decided to catch a movie and saw Super 8, went to dinner at Noodles & Co, went clothes shopping again, got some Rita's Ice Cream came home and watched The Tourist and stayed up until 1am! It was an awesome day of just being together with no school or work stress.
Sunday we woke up at 4am to a crazy thunder + lightening storm that lasted for 2 hours.. it was like someone was flashing a camera right in our room coupled with thunder that shook our building!! It even woke Danny up!! J We watched the storm for a bit and then went back to bed only to get up early to make it to church at 8am. So after we got ready we picked up the sister missionaries and headed to church. It was so HOT at church I was dying and as sacrament meeting was ending I got a MASSIVE calf cramp that instantly put me to tears… I was trying to get it to stop and then they had the congregation stand to sing the Star Spangled Banner… So I tried to stand for a verse but my body wasn’t cooperating so I awkwardly sat while everyone stood. I still feel patriotic in my heart even though I didn’t stand J
We were also spotlighted in the ward Newsletter and got a lot of comments about it.. Here's what we put:
Danny's get to know you questions:
What are your favorite smells? The Bread aisle.
What is your favorite trip you've ever taken and why? Together with my wife quitting our jobs and spending a month touring Spain.
Name one thing you miss about being a kid. Simplicity of life
What subject do you know an unusually lot about? Multidrug resistant Tuberculosis
Name one thing you have no desire to ever do. Run a marathon
Morgan's get to know you questions:
If you were a crayon, what color would you be? Fuschia
What would your dream job be? Playing golf for LPGA.... I LOVE to golf!!
Name one thing you miss about being a kid: Going to Roller Skating & Rootbeer Popsicles... I can't find them anywhere!
If you could be a superhero, what would you want your superpowers to be? Mind reading... I always want t know what people are REALLY thinking. Something from being a sociology major makes me want to dissect people and learn more about them and how they view things.
Share something about you that not many people know about you: I have a motorcycle's license and a concealed weapons permit :)
A little info about us:
Dan is from Layton, UT and Morgan is from Bountiful, UT. Dan served his mission in Barcelona, Spain and Morgan served in Panama City, Panama. Moved to DC from Utah for Dan to attend medical school at GW, he's starting his 3rd year!! Morgan has a Master's in Health Administration so she can help with his medical practice someday. Dan loves to go powder skiing, long-board, play tennis and golf. Morgan loves to go running, powder skiing, golfing, and bake yummy desserts when she gets the chance ;)

We both love to go camping or just travel and will take any chance we can to go somewhere new.
We've been married for 4 1/2 years and are expecting our first baby in October. We met when we were 17 in 2000, lost touch and met back up in 2006 and the rest is history!

After church I was ready to head home and we almost left the sister missionaries! Haha… luckily I went back to find them before we left… I couldn’t believe that their car was switched out for a couple bikes… it’s like 90+ degrees here and super humid. But then I remembered that MY mission to Panama was also like 90+ degrees and super humid year round and we had to walk everywhere… that made me not feel too bad for them.
Since we didn’t get much sleep the night before we took a 2 ½ hr nap and then headed to Lindsay’s house to hang out with her, Derek + Angel and their two kiddos. They drove down from Philly and so it was great to hang out with them and chat the night away.
On Monday we went back to Lindsay’s for a BBQ + a little pool time which was super fun. Then we headed to some friend’s in the ward for another BBQ get together. After that I got to take a 15 min nap and we met up with Sarah + Mitch to go watch the fireworks. We scored some sweet seats by chance outside of the pentagon and had an awesome view. Traffic wasn’t bad getting home either. It was a full day of Food + Friends and I loved it!! I’m so proud to be American and LOVE our country!!
Our view of the Pentagon... pre show ;)
Today, Tuesday, Danny started his rotations for his 3rd year… his week break went by WAY too fast!! For the next two years he’ll be rotating around different hospitals here in the DC area and going through a variety of specialties which include Primary Care, Psychiatry, OB/GYN, Surgery, Internal Medicine and Pediatrics. Should be a lot of fun cuz we’ll be having a baby in the middle of it all!!
24 weeks! Time is Flying!
So I decided to take my own pic in the bathroom at work.. haha... Danny was too busy to take pics of me and I really feel like I should be documenting this for some reason.. even though I've only taken pics at 20 and 24 weeks now, I guess it's better late than never right?! So these pics are totally ghetto but they are kinda fun... I'm just glad no one came into the bathroom and caught me snapping away at my pregnant belly!! hahahaa
Just got this adorable bassinet!! I figure I can move her from room to room in this thing if I can't handle having her in the living room 24/7.. yes we have a 1bedroom condo.. this is going to be very interesting.

He Did It!!
After 2 months of studying everyday from 9am-10ish pm... The big day of Danny's (8 hour!!!) Board Step 1 Test came and he was ready!! This is him after the test with a melted brain and a happy smile :) I don't think I could have put in the dedicated hours that he did and I am so proud of him for working so hard. I know it will pay off in the end. We appreciate everyone's love, prayers & support during the past couple crazy months!!
xoxo
Morgan
PS... Don't you just love the "study beard" he grew over the 2 months of studying?! I think it's adorable in a mountain man kinda way hehe
