Stake Women's Conference

I had a chance to go to the Stake Woman's Conference where they talked about applying the atonement of Jesus Christ in our lives every day. I must admit that I really don't take advantage of it on a daily basis... to do this, they discussed how we can put our burdens on the Lord every night and clear our minds of our troubles. Our Savior has already suffered for us, so why are we still suffering? It's because we need to let him take our troubles. Let him in to fix our hearts & worries, and to share in our joy and triumphs! They also made this video which I really enjoyed. I feel like the more I give my worries up to the Lord then the more I can focus on improving myself instead of focusing on the hardships. I have been holding a grudge for a few months against some friends that offended me and having to struggle through that has been very hard for me. The past month I have been really trying to hand this heartache unto the Lord and after attending this conference I really feel like I have been helped to come to peace. Understanding His perspective helps me to not blame myself for the trials in the past few months and gives me a brighter perspective that will help me to not be so easily offended in the future.
I hope our Savior can do the same for you. Enjoy the video...

You might enjoy the 'Mitford' series of books by Jan Karon. The main character is an Episcopal priest in small town in North Carolina. The atonement that you mention is a frequent theme in these books as he struggles in a very human way with issues of everyday life in balance with his faith.
