The Road trip begins... Valencia, Spain

well yesterday we rented our car and lucky us it was the tour de france going through barcelona! so what would have taken us 30 min to get out of town ended up being 2 hours! it was a little much. we even tried to sneak past a closed road but a cop stopped us and said - hey didn´t you know that today is the tour de france?!- duh!! haha of course we knew we were just trying any way possible to get to the freeway. well we finally made it on and made a detour in terrassa one of danny´s old areas and took a drive through tour with a stop at an itallian restaurant for some yummy pasta. then we headed down to valencia. it was a beautiful drive as we saw fields, castles, and fun little villages. i really love the beauty here.
today in valencia we are at a sweet hotel on the top floor with a huge balcony! i hope that we can eat breakfast on the balcony tomorrow morning.. anyway we went into town and saw the rio seco which is a huge dried out river that they have converted into a park which has a lot of beautiful fountains and bike riders. we saw the cool science museum and ill have to show you pics of that later. then we went into the supermarket and got some sliced meat with amazing cheese and had a little supermarket lunch feast! then it was off to the cathedral that holds the arm of st vincent.. it was pretty nasty looking but i took a pic anyway.. THEN i got to see the HOLY GRAAILLLL yep that´s right! i saw it and will now live forever! jk but it was pretty cool to be in the cathedral. they even had a wedding going on and then mass in another room so we got to participate in a lot of catholic fun! danny even got his pic taken next to a creepy painting of a priest. After that we hung out in the city center, got so fun spain candy, and climbed the torre that used to be the city entrance. it is huge! after wandering around some of danny´s old area and enjoying the beautiful architecture of the city we ended the night with dinner at a pizzeria. they brought us out a two person salad with olives, oli, and tuna! it was the best salad ever! then we had a pizza with tuna, ham, pineapple, olives, onions (on danny´s half of course) and blue cheese.. it was super yummy. then we ate like Spaniards and just hung out for an hour talking. it was like 10 pm and just barely getting dark here. even when it is dark the moon is still so bright that it never feels super dark. i really have been loving it here.. i think the food and walking around is how the spanish people stay so beautiful and slim. well tomorrow we are off to the beach and elche. we decided to drive through the national forest so i hope to see some fun spainish beauty!
